Most meaningful oyster: A T’souke oyster I had at Shuck Taylor’s in Victoria, BC. When I learned how the T’Souke Nation has revitalized their bay with oysters after over a century of colonial pollution, and are now able to use them as an economic resource for their community, I was inspired to begin a career in oysters with an emphasis on indigenous knowledge and stewardship.

Favorite oyster to shuck: Any I can get my hands on! I currently live landlocked in a small town in Italy, so I appreciate any practice I can get.

Dream oyster destination: Gambia, to learn about the mangrove ecosystems and women-led oyster initiatives, and culinary culture.

Proudest oyster accomplishments to date: Passing my first OMG level exam!

Favorite thing about being an OMG member: The community! Having access to a worldwide network of brilliant, passionate, oyster-loving folks is such a gift.
