Most meaningful oyster: I love the Olympia oyster not only for its flavor but because it is the native oyster of the PNW, where I live. They're little with a big spirit.
Favorite oyster to shuck: I used to like tide-tumbled oysters more, especially when the raw bar is barred in tickets. As I've gotten to know oysters more, I've come to appreciate the variation and individuality of beach-grown oysters.
Dream oyster destination: There are a few... my top 3, Ireland, Japan, and Australia, have species I've never tried before.
Proudest oyster accomplishments to date: I stumbled into the world of oysters after a decade in the trades and am proud of the skills and knowledge I've gained with the support of an amazing and passionate crew. I am proud to have presented world-class oysters at one of Olympia's premier restaurants for over two years now.
Favorite thing about being an OMG member: It is wonderful to have such breadth and depth of oyster knowledge gathered and presented in a way that builds on itself. I'm looking forward to next year's Educators Summit as well.
